Staff Retention Series

June 03, 2026 12:00 PM - June 03, 2026 1:00 PM

The New York State Family Planning Training Center is excited to invite you to the staff retention series which will begin late spring. This series offers participants the opportunity to learn retention strategies and best practices within a family planning setting. The series will cover the full continuum of an employment lifecycle, discuss retention challenges, and highlight the importance of the recruitment and onboarding process on retention of staff.

Webinar 1 – Recruitment and Retention Strategies Through the Employment Lifecycle

Presenter: Kate Kennedy

Date: May 12th, 12-1pm EST

Are you looking for best practice strategies for employee recruitment and retention? This session examined recruitment and retention through the employment lifecycle, from promoting your organization’s culture with “brand attraction,” then moving through recruitment, onboarding, training, and development strategies. But the work is not done – Ensuring your organization has a positive, clear offboarding system that helps former employees become “brand ambassadors” continues a reinforcement cycle that generates a robust, engaged workforce.

Webinar 2 – Building Onboarding Programs and Retention Strategies That Stick

Presenter: Kate Kennedy + Suzanne Speer

Date: June 3, 12-1pm

Recruiting new team members is only the beginning of the employment lifecycle. In this second installment of our series, we took a deeper dive into the onboarding journey, exploring how organizations can build a robust onboarding program across the preparatory, orientation, and integration phases. We also examined proven retention strategies that go beyond the basics, looking at how mission alignment, compensation and benefits, flexible work arrangements, and clear career pathways can meaningfully reduce turnover and keep your best people engaged for the long term.
