Findings from the Adolescent Sexual Health Research Project: Webinar for Family Planning Providers

November 12, 2019 12:00 PM - November 12, 2019 1:00 PM

Where are New York State’s adolescents and young adults getting their sexual and reproductive health care? If they are not getting care, why not? How do they perceive their risk of STIs? At the request of the NYSDOH, ACT for Youth –working with providers from across DOH initiatives–asked adolescents, young adults, and health care professionals these questions and more. In this webinar, we presented findings from this mixed methods study which included surveys, focus groups and key informant interviews.  We discussed the implications of these findings for Family Planning Program providers with regard to promoting adolescent sexual health. The webinar was presented by Amanda Purington, MS, Director of Research and Evaluation at ACT for Youth and Jane Powers, PhD, Project Director of ACT for Youth.
