2021 New York State Department of Health’s Bureau of Women, Infant, and Adolescent Health (BWIAH) Provider Meeting
The theme of this year’s Provider Meeting was The Impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences and Trauma on Health and Relationships. The event featured keynote presentations by Vincent J. Felitti, MD, one of the world’s foremost experts on childhood trauma, and Angela Diaz, MD, PhD, MPH, Director of the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, the largest adolescent-specific health center in the U.S. The event also featured dozens of workshop sessions on such topics as adverse childhood experiences, trauma, resilience, and self-care.
The 2021 BWIAH Provider Meeting was a convening of provider groups supported by the BWIAH: Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention; Enough is Enough; Family Planning Program; Healthy Families NY; Maternal and Infant Community Health Collaboratives; Nurse-Family Partnerships; Personal Responsibility Education Program; Rape Prevention Education; and Sexual Risk Avoidance Education Program.
